The Lee Boynton Influence show celebrates the remarkable influence Lee had on our arts community. Lee taught Impressionist theories of color and light for over thirty years. He moved to Maryland in 1980, becoming one of the early artists-in-residence at Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts. Lee pioneered techniques for adapting the Impressionist theories of color and light to watercolor. He also co-authored the book, Painting the Impressionist Watercolor with his long-time student, Linda Gottlieb.
Lee is one of six founders of the Mid Atlantic Plein Air Painters Association. He served as the first President of the Association. Lee Boynton's work has won awards in Paint Annapolis, Paint Easton, the Wayne Plein Air Festival, among others. He is included in the historic book by Gary Pendleton, 100 Plein Air Painters of the Mid-Atlantic, published in 2014.
Come and enjoy paintings by Lee Boynton and the many artists he has influenced.
